Nuffield Health Tees Hospital
Nuffield Health Tees Hospital is one of the leading providers of private healthcare in the North East, supporting patients across Stockton-on-Tees, Darlington, Middlesbrough and the surrounding areas.
Established in 1981, the hospital provides a wide range of private GP and surgical services, including cosmetic, spinal, vascular and orthopaedic care.
Aim
We were tasked with helping Nuffield Health Tees Hospital raise its profile as a trusted provider of private healthcare in the Tees Valley.
The aim was to use social media, content marketing and PR to increase awareness of the hospital’s services, showcase the expertise of its consultants and team, and build confidence among prospective patients considering private healthcare.
The Campaign
For a healthcare provider, trust is central to the decision-making process. Our strategy focused on making Nuffield Health Tees Hospital feel expert, approachable and reassuring to people considering private healthcare in the Tees Valley and surrounding areas.
We aimed to showcase the hospital’s services while also highlighting the consultants, physiotherapists and wider team behind the care. By combining educational content, team-led storytelling and practical health advice, we helped prospective patients better understand the support available to them and feel more confident about taking the next step.
The campaign was designed to position the hospital as a high-quality private healthcare provider for GP appointments, surgery and specialist treatments, including cosmetic, spinal, vascular and orthopaedic care.
We developed weekly social media plans to help educate and inform followers about the services available at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, while also introducing the people behind the care.
The content was designed to position the hospital and its team as approachable experts in their fields, helping prospective patients better understand the support available to them.
Social media ideas included exercise of the week, motivational quotes, event promotion, consultant profiles and team profiles.
We also arranged live Facebook sessions to create more interactive, accessible content. These included introducing the physiotherapy team, sharing advice on exercising and looking after your body, and hosting an interactive yoga session.
Alongside social media activity, we created website blog content to provide more detailed insight into the hospital’s services, staff and patient experience.
Using the website as a content hub, we wrote blogs that helped explain how the hospital operates and what patients could expect from different services.
This included ‘day in the life’ style blogs, designed to reassure future patients by giving them a clearer understanding of the hospital’s processes and an opportunity to get to know potential consultants in advance.
The content helped make the hospital feel more accessible and supported patients at the research and decision-making stage.
In addition to social media and content marketing, we supported Nuffield Health Tees Hospital with traditional PR to help strengthen its reputation in the local area.
When the hospital received an ‘outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission, becoming the only independent hospital north of Leeds to achieve the honour, we distributed a press release to local media.
The story secured 10 pieces of coverage across online and offline news outlets, helping to reinforce the hospital’s reputation for high standards of care.
The Results
Over six months, the campaign helped grow Nuffield Health Tees Hospital’s online audience and increase awareness of its services.
Facebook followers increased by 13%, while monthly reach grew to an average of 32,000 people.
The campaign also helped raise the profile of the hospital’s consultants, services and wider team, using social media and website content to build trust, answer patient questions and position the hospital as a leading private healthcare provider in the Tees Valley.
Alongside this, PR activity around the hospital’s ‘outstanding’ Care Quality Commission rating secured 10 pieces of media coverage, further supporting the hospital’s reputation within the local area.
